Summary :
This course is designed to show the common tasks within a BI Applications 11g implementation using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and corresponding system components such as OBIEE, Functional Setup Manager, and Configuration Manager. The intended audience for this course ranges from System Administrators to Data Warehouse Architects. Attendees should have experience in Dimensional Modeling and Database design as well as a thorough understanding of SQL. Note that this course does not include information about Informatica, which was used as the ETL tool for BI Applications in 7.9.6.x, and Oracle does not currently have a migration utility to support this. (Formerly OBI461)
Objectives :
- Clearly identify and describe the Architecture and supporting products for BI Applications
- Understand and describe the Oracle Business Analytics Warehouse (OBAW) used for BI Applications
- Identify steps and scenarios to install BI Apps including options for high availability
- Understand the ETL or ELT concepts provided for BI Apps 11g using Oracle Data Integrator
- Explore the pre-built mappings and logic provided by BI Apps
- Understand concepts used to manage configuration of BI Apps through Configuration Manager and Functional Setup Manager
- Use CM (Configuration Manager) to create, generate, deploy and monitor load plans for BI Applications
- Understand and describe concepts for modifying the pre-built ELT logic within BI Apps
- Explore and describe steps in ODI studio to modify and extend the Analytics Warehouse
- Discuss security features and scenarios in Oracle BI Apps including OBIEE Roles and Policies
- Understand steps to monitor and manage BI Applications performance and patching
